I think they wear the same - but the cotton/wool blend have summery look paler and not very bright - I will keep making both as some people like a bit of cotton feel in the socks

]]><![CDATA[covid is changing  the selling of socks]]>Sun, 03 May 2020 17:19:08 GMThttps://www.bjs-handcranked-socks.com/bjs-wandering-mind/covid-is-changing-the-selling-of-socksCovicd has certainly changed everyone's  life.  Most of my sock selling happens at a Farmers Market  here in Tucson.  The St Philps market like all farmers markets around the world closed suddenly the 2nd week in March.  I know by fall it will be up and running again when my customers need socks.  But it will be different. 

So I am going to try to keep posting weekly with what I am doing and where you can get socks in the meantime - I am making socks daily to build up my winter inventory and am going to update the photos of the socks  every week - I am going to post  a couple pair of each size in each category  to up the anticipation of  of next years fun inventory -

I will be reopening my Etsy shop shortly and will  post it here when I do

So I am off to work on socks  and you all stay safe

When I was little there seemed so much time and days moved slowly by -and now the days and weeks just fly by  - Hard to believe that we are into the middle of July. Wish there were more days in the week. or may hours in the day.  But then I would just need more .  I am trying to balance my free time between weaving scarves, making socks and working in the yard.
I did finish  a batch of socks  this week and am getting set to do another - Spent time yesterday winding cones. And then this morning I planted a few more cactus.    Since moving to Arizona I am having to learn a lot about what grows with out water- I have spent way to much money on plants that do not want to survive but I am getting smarter. 
Well I am have all those cones calling me to get busy so I am off to crank some socks.

I have discovered much to my delight that I can crank socks much faster while listening to an audio book rather than trying to watch TV.  Until I started working at Amazon I had never considered a Kindle - how silly was that.  I love my Kindle Fire and my audio books I buy from Amazon/Audible.  The stories keep me working longer and I really think faster.  Henry of course loves to listen as well.  He seems to prefer a good mystery/ Anyhow thought I would give a little credit to my Kindle.

Well this week I have been busy checking out the best way to get noticed in www . I have actually worked on my Facebook page something I swore I would never do.  I am not sure if I really like all this time we spend texting searching and posting - might be better to get unplugged and go play .  But here I am ------ I am going to have get back to work cranking out socks. I need to  get some more "Not your Father's socks" for men done and of course I can never have too many women's socks.  It looks like we will finally get rain here for the 4th of July so i will be house bound when the humidity goes up - I think I read that  we have only had .6 inches of rain since January.  But my cactus is blooming again so (I do water it occasionaly)

I am getting ready to crank again as the last batch of socks have there toes closed, been wash and blocked and tagged and boxed.  The big decision  is what to choose, I am not complaining mind you I love being surrounded by yarn and I love the choices but it is hard  to pick the next 25 skeins to turn into socks.
